Eventide H9 Harmonizer®
There is so much to say about this pedal. This is THE harmony pedal to end all harmony pedals. The amount of sounds and options and types of effects in this pedal is staggering. There is no more customizable and versatile harmony device on the planet. As stated in previous postings, this machine is not for the faint of heart. If you take the time (and we mean hours and hours) to really understand what is possible with this pedal, it can easily be not only the best pedal on your board, but it can take the place of several of your pedals all at once! But be ready to really dive into this pedal.

HornFX Review
Interface: 2.5/5
- need need need app!
- midi control and expression highly recommended
- not easy to create on the fly AT ALL
Versatility: 5/5
- all things considered, one of the most versatile non multi-effects units out there today
- cannot use more than one effect at once!
-access to a ton of different sounds at once
-there is a lot more than horn players need; a lot of the weird stuff is not very usable, synths dont track as well as other synth pedals on market
H9 Harmonizer® (top)
Tonal reproduction: 4/5
-as with all Eventide pedals, very digitized and not incredible
-certain sounds and engines can be manipulated to sound great
- use bass input signal
Tracking speed: 4/5
(taken from pitchfactor so u can see what u wrote) While the tracking speed is mostly excellent, there are a few bugs here and there. Its speed is not the problem, but there is a tracking issue that must be discussed. There is a strange sound, mostly in the articulation of the note, in harmonized voices that are much lower than the note you are playing. It varies from instrument to instrument, but for the most part, when you have a harmonized voice a 5th or more below the note you are playing, there is a “wub” sound as the note starts. This can be mitigated by lowering the volume of the harmony notes, but can be frustrating for many. That being said, the entire HornFX team uses this pedal. Also, we are in contact with Eventide and a solution to the tracking issue is hopefully close.
Live application: 2.5/5
- need midi control
-many usable sounds
- most professional guitarist use multiple H9s together, so many consider using it along with something else that gives you some better sounds in areas you think need to be improved
