BOSS CE-5 Chorus Ensemble
The Boss CE-5 gives the user a slightly more complex and sophisticated array of chorus sounds that its cousin, the CH-1. While it does have a bit more to it, this pedal is still thoroughly set in the no-frills, simple world that Boss tends to live in. This might be a slight upgrade from the CH-1 due to its enhanced tonal control

HornFX Review
Interface: 3/5
This pedal gives the user a bit more control over their tone than the standard Boss CH-1. It is somewhat disappointing however, that you are not able to pump up the bass or treble, but only able to diminish it or cut it all together.
Versatility: 3/5
Being as simple as it is, the CE-5 has a limited range of sounds, made only slightly more diverse by its EQ options.
Tonal Reproduction: 3/5
As with many digital pedals, this one’s sound tends to be on the bright, bordering on sterile, side. It does provide a fair representation of your tone. You can counteract some of the sterility with the various EQ settings.
Live application: 3.5/5
When comparing it to the Boss CH-1, this might give you better results in a live setting. The more advanced EQ options will allow you to more accurately and specifically tailor your sound to what you would like to hear.
