Aguilar Filter Twin
Aguilar Filter Twin
Aguilar, a company most known for their bass amps, created this pedal for bass players. This is another piece of evidence in the trend we are seeing of bass pedals working incredibly well for horns. This pedal uses two identical filters sweeping in opposite directions to give a unique, more human quality to the filter sounds. The Filter Twin can definitely give you a slightly more unique and individualistic sound, but will mostly perform as a standard envelope filter.

Interface: 3.5/5
The interface is simple, with controls that feel intuitive. The knobs take a few minutes to get used to, but once you understand their function, the sweet spots of this pedal are easy to find.
Versatility: 1.5/5
Although the sounds this pedal produce are high quality, the Filter Twin is a pedal with a singular functionality. There is little variability in the wah sounds you can produce.
Clarity of Effect: 4.5/5
This pedal simply sounds great. The wah speaks clearly, and is still appropriately audible when messing around with the blend knob at lower settings.
Live application: 4/5
Since the sounds are so limited, this is a great set and forget pedal. If you like its sound and personality, this is a great pedal to just pop on when you want some auto wah.
