Friedman Sir-Compre
Friedman Sir-Compre
Known more for their Amps, Friedman’s offering is one specifically meant to be attractive to guitar players. Their focus on a wider range gain knob and the ability to have a “more gritty compression” might indicate that this pedal, although well made, is not the best solution for a horn player.

HornFX Review

3.5/5 | 4/5 | 2/5 | 9.5/15 |
Interface: 3.5/5
This pedal gives you a lot of options for tonal control, such as the tight and treble knobs which give you a nice amount of tonal manipulability. Sadly, there might not be ENOUGH manipulability as this pedal sounds quite stuffy even at the lightest compression settings.
Noise: 4/5
Almost noiseless.
Live application: 2/5
This could be a good solution for you if the tonal implications do not overshadow its almost noiseless compression. You can get a good consistent compressed signal, but it might cost you some tonal integrity.
