Keeley C4
Keeley C4
As one of the most highly regarded and well known compressors on the market, this pedal can seem desirable and useful for a horn player. While it is undeniably well suited and excellently tuned for guitar use, this compressor may not have the desired effect on your sound or tone. There are some prominent sax players who have used this in their setup with much success, but their method might have to be researched to fully understand how best to use this pedal with your horn.

Interface: 3.5/5
The four knobs on this pedal are all straight forward, however, their effects on your sound may take some experimenting to truly understand.
Noise: 4/5
This is a very quiet compression pedal. It’s tonal properties may be other than what is desired.
Live application: 2/5
Although this pedal is highly regarded, this may not be a great solution for a horn player. There is no real opportunity for subtlety with this pedal. It also tends to affect your tone and make it more stuffy.
- 9v DC jack at the top end of the unit: uses the same type of power supply used by nearly all effect manufactures like BOSS or Ibanez.
- Internal Attack control: designed for bass players with high output active pick-ups or active pedal boards with buffers. Perfect for BASS GUITARS now!
- Input Sensitivity Control: This means you can use this in your studio to run keyboards, drum machines, drum mics, even master recordings and other line-level uses with the Keeley Compressor.
